Stag Outing - (Continued)
There were quite a number of members who did not appreciate the sunshine on Saturday 
morning. After only two or three hours sleep, raging hangovers and a few of the very early hours missing from their consciousness they did not appreciate the 9.30AM coach ride to Harbour Point Golf Club. Once again the Captains selection was excellent. Again not a exceptionally long course but more trees were evident and once again the greens were undulating and ultra fast. While the course was a fair test, particularly the greens, most of the low scoring was largely due the previous nights debauchery.
Martin Edge started his Saturday night revelry early in the
afternoon and consequently was being put to bed a 8.30pm as he was incapable of standing up never mind walking. The rest of us had a great evening although much more sedate than the previous night. Upon returning from a lovely dinner in Cork at mid-night for a nightcap I was treated to the Captain doing a great impersonation of Elvis Presley on the Karaoke.
Warm but cloudy summed up the weather for Sunday with a visit to Fearnhill Golf & Country Club. This course must have been designed by an Irishman as a great many tees were directly behind the green just played thus entailing 
driving over the green! There were no warning signs of any kind and it was very dangerous. Another facet was the deep rough around the greens which soon had the players preferring to be in a bunker. This rough demanded very good expertise with a lob wedge.
Neither of the three course could be described as flat and after three days of golf, drink and fun even the younger members were feeling the effects and there were some very tired golfers playing the 18th on Sunday afternoon.
The Captain is to be congratulated for selecting and arranging such
wonderful outing. The organisation of everything was fantastic some of this is because of Neil's brilliant organisation of the golf competitions, prize giving ceremony etc. This outing will definitely be talked about for sometime.
I can't wait for next year.
